JotSpot Live: Live, Group Note-Taking
I am in the process of writing reviews for different note-taking applications, but in the meantime I will post brief descriptions and screenshots of the programs from their developers. Today’s application is JotSpot Live, an online note-taking system with emphasis on collaboration.
JotSpot Live allows you, your colleagues or clients to take notes together on the same web page at the same time. Imagine everyone simultaneously typing and editing the same Microsoft Word document and you’ll get the idea.
Features:
- Everyone types on the same web page
- End “versionitis” — take one set of notes
- See changes as they happen
- Publish instantly — stop e-mailing documents
- Everything’s stored securely on the web
My thoughts: I think this is a great idea. In a class of 100+ students, most are taking notes and all the notes are exactly the same. Instead of paying attention to the lecture, students are busy copying everything down from the board. But, with an online group note-taking system, it is okay if you miss something because someone else wrote it down. I just wish it had TIP (Tablet Input Panel) support.
