Using MindManager to create a quick MS Project

Note: This post is from AdminID’s personal blog AdminID.net from Januray.  I decided to repost them here because they are relevant.

MindJet’s MindManager is a great way to create a quick MS Project file if you don’t know Project well. Only the Pro version can export to Project, so make all the Project files you can in 21 days!
Some quick tips…

  • Switch back and forth between map and outline mode to see how it is ordered.
  • Use the Map Markers and Task Info panels to add the task details you’ll need.
  • You can also publish as HTML and put on a web server. I forget exactly where, but in one of the options is the default of 5 levels, set it to 9 to be sure you get everything.

I’m not real familiar with it because of the price to purchase, but I have used the demo to work through some problems and create Project files easier. It can do a whole more too, but I don’t think it scales well enough for a Task Management app, at least for my tastes and budget. It is ink-enabled and works well on a Tablet PC.
