OneNote 12 Beta Review Part 2: All New Features
Here are a list of all the features from OneNote 12 itself. OneNote 12 comes with a section called “New Features in OneNote 12″ that has the following information:
1) Multiple Notebooks: Use different notebooks to separate your various work and personal notes
2) Better Navigation and Organization: Use the Mini-bar or the navigation tree to view your note organization
3) Drag-and-Drop: Drag page tabs, section tabs, and notebooks to reorganize your notes
4) Multiple Computers: Use the same notebook on your multiple computers
5) Shared Notebooks: Keep your team “on the same page” and easily work together on the same notes, simply by creating a notebook in a shared network location
6) Notebook Sync and Merging: Edit the same notebook on multiple computers or with multiple people, even offline, and everything will be synced and merged automatically
7) Notes on Web Pages: Quickly send web page content to OneNote with a button in IE
8 Notes on Outlook Items: Associate OneNote pages with your Outlook meetings and contacts
9) Send E-mail to OneNote: Quickly put Outlook e-mail messages into OneNote
10) Outlook Task Sync: Flag your OneNote notes with Outlook task flags that are synchronized two-way with Outlook
11) Hyperlinked Notes: Link to any notebook, section, page, or paragraph of your notes
12) Embedded Files: Store any file on a OneNote page
13) Inserting Printouts: Insert color, searchable Printouts of any file your computer can print
14) Picture OCR: Search the text inside of any picture you insert, including Screen Clippings
15) Tables: Create tables quickly with a keyboard and paste tables from other applications
16) Fast Search: Search your notes and note flags with lightning speed
17) Drawing Tools: Insert simple shapes to create quick diagrams
18) Lasso Selection: Freely select any ink strokes with your pen
19) Calculator: Quickly calculate simple mathematical expressions directly on the page
20) Notebook Templates: Create your notebooks from a template or define your own templates
21) Save as PDF or XPS: Save your notes in fixed formats, like PDF or XPS, for distributing to people who do not have OneNote
22) Extensibility: Use special tools built with the OneNote extensibility API
23) Other improvements and fixes: Experience many improvements made in response to user requests from the last version
As you can see, that is a lot of new features! I have also attached a screen shot of the “New Features” section.
